Can cheilitis be prevented?

There are a few ways you can prevent yourself from developing certain types of cheilitis. To prevent actinic cheilitis, protect your lips with sunscreen to avoid the dangerous ultraviolet rays of the sun. Your diet should include all the necessary vitamins so you don't have a nutritional deficiency because this can lead to angular cheilitis. To prevent contact cheilitis, make sure you know what chemicals you are allergic to because this type develops from contact with a chemical agent in lipsticks, lip balms, or mouth rinses.
