Managing your skin cancer on a daily basis begins with getting treatment. Treatment may include a one-time surgery, or it may include a more intensive treatment like chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Follow your doctors' advice while undergoing treatment, and do not be afraid to ask questions. Once you have been treated, it is important to see your doctor for frequent check-ups to make sure the cancer has not come back or spread. Continue checking your own skin regularly, and talk to your doctor if you notice any new or unusual symptoms. Continue protecting your skin from the sun with strong sunscreen and tightly woven clothing. Care for your emotional health, too, by relying on resources like counseling, support groups, and friends and family.
