What is the proper way for a teen to use a condom?

Dr. Mehmet Oz, MD
Cardiology (Cardiovascular Disease)
Here's how to use a condom:

1. Check the expiration date on the condom package and examine it for any
damage.
2. Remove the condom from the package carefully. Do not use teeth!
3. Make sure that the tip of the condom points through the ring in the direction
that will allow the condom to roll. If it’s inside out, it won’t roll.
4. Placed the rolled condom on the head of the penis.
5. Leave a half inch of space at the tip to collect semen; pinch the air out of
the tip before and while rolling on the condom.
6. Unroll the condom over the penis, all the way down to the base.
7. Smooth out air bubbles. If necessary, add a water-based lubricant to the
outside of the condom.
8. Enjoy your sexual experience knowing that you are practicing safe sex.
9. When pulling out, hold the condom against the base of the penis, to prevent
semen from spilling.
10. Dispose of the condom carefully. Do not flush it down the toilet!
