Is filing a claim the same as eligibility for sexual trauma compensation?

No, filing a claim for benefits is not the same as eligibility for military sexual trauma compensation. The benefits claim is for military sexual trauma counseling, care and service and any veteran who reports in-service sexual trauma is eligible to receive health care for conditions related to it. On the other hand, to get compensation, you must meet strict evidentiary requirements outlined by the Veterans Benefits Administration.
