Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) have been shown to help men with this problem by boosting their brains’ serotonin levels. Another SSRI, dapoxetine, is being tested and marketed specifically as a treatment for this problem, although currently not in the U.S. It is short-acting like Viagra and expected to be taken an hour or so before sex. Studies suggest it can delay orgasm and increase the amount of time a man can have intercourse before he ejaculates.
