Who should use selenium sulfide?

Selenium sulfide is used to treat symptoms of dandruff, sebhorreic dermatitis (scalp infection), and tinea versicolor. Selenium sulfide 2.5% strength must be prescribed by your doctor, but the 1% strength may be available over-the-counter. Selenium sulfide should be safe for adults and children, though it may not be safe for use in children under age 2.
