Side effects may include headaches, drowsiness, dizziness, depression, abnormal thoughts or behavior, respiratory infections, joint or muscle pain, an abnormal sense of taste, nausea, and diarrhea. Ramelteon can make it dangerous to drive or to operate machinery. Some people may have a serious allergic reaction, with closing of the throat and difficulty breathing.
