How does fospropofol injection interact with medications or foods?

Any drug that affects breathing, heart function or mental alertness should be used with caution. The well trained anesthesiology professionals will monitor the patient closely for the effects that these combinations can cause. These include: narcotics, benzodiazepines, barbiturates other analgesics, hypnotics and anesthetics. Fospropofol can interfere with the gag reflex, increasing the risk of choking on regurgitated food from the stomach. Therefore, the doctor may recommend stopping food and beverages several hours before undergoing a procedure involving the use of fospropofol.
