Can structural scoliosis be prevented?

Unfortunately, structural scoliosis cannot be prevented. In the majority of cases, there is no known cause, and it's very difficult to prevent something without knowing the cause. Additionally, in the cases where structural scoliosis is caused by a birth defect or another muscular or skeletal condition, the spinal curve can merely be treated. Though there is no definitive prevention method for structural scoliosis, early detection and treatment can slow or even stop the progression of the condition.
