What is PACT therapy for schizophrenia?

PACT is a psychosocial rehabilitation opportunity for people living with substance abuse and mental illness problems. Along with medication treatment, people with schizophrenia can benefit greatly from rehabilitation therapies. Sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness, PACT stands for the Program for Assertive Community Treatment. PACT offers people with schizophrenia and addiction problems 24-hour support in the areas of their lives where they need it most. PACT staff members make home visits, helping participants remember to take their medications, buy food, manage a budget, and handle other life responsibilities.
