Why is dry or flaky skin a symptom of rosacea?

About half of all people with rosacea have dry skin, according to the National Rosacea Society. This is especially true for the skin around the central portion of the face. Dry skin can become flaky and uncomfortable, but some simple steps will help alleviate the problem. After you wash your face and apply any medication your doctor has prescribed, use a light application of skin moisturizer. Avoid varieties that contain fragrance or other irritants.
