What skincare product ingredients can help rosacea?

Certain ingredients in skincare products can help rosacea in two ways. Some ingredients camouflage the signs of rosacea, while other ingredients can soothe the skin, help restore its barrier function, and prevent further irritation. For example, a foundation makeup that has a green tint can neutralize the redness in the skin, making it less apparent while covering acne-like lesions. If the foundation also contains a sunscreen, it can help prevent flare-ups of rosacea caused by sun exposure. Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are two sunscreen ingredients that tend to be gentle for skin with rosacea. Ingredients such as ceramides, humectants (glycerin and hyaluronic acid, for example), and silicones (dimethicone and cyclomethicone) found in moisturizers, foundations, and sunscreens can soothe the skin while helping it retain water and function as a protective barrier against the outside world.
