The most important lifestyle tip for living with rosacea is to determine what triggers your symptoms and avoid those things when possible. The National Rosacea Society (NRS) recommends keeping a rosacea diary for at least two weeks to track flare-ups of symptoms and factors that might have triggered those flares. In one survey, the NRS found that the top 10 triggering factors in people with rosacea were:
  • sun exposure
  • emotional stress
  • hot weather
  • wind
  • heavy exercise
  • alcohol consumption
  • hot baths
  • cold weather
  • spicy foods
  • humidity
In addition to minimizing your exposure to known triggers, using your medications according to your doctor’s recommendations, applying sunscreen daily, and applying makeup carefully can make living with rosacea easier.
