Is rosacea easy to diagnose?

Dr. Mehmet Oz, MD
Cardiology (Cardiovascular Disease)
Rosacea takes some skill to diagnose. There's no blood test for the skin disorder, which can be confused with other conditions. For instance, an advanced case of rosacea can resemble severe acne. Likewise, people with systemic lupus erythematosus can develop reddened, bumpy skin similar to that of a person with rosacea. A doctor will consider the possibility that a person might have one of these other conditions before diagnosing rosacea.
