What can help with emotional balance for rosacea management?

Having rosacea can cause wide-ranging emotions and those feelings may worsen rosacea symptoms, so achieving emotional balance is important in managing rosacea. In surveys, the National Rosacea Society has found that three-quarters of people with rosacea report feeling low self-esteem. More than two-thirds felt frustrated or embarrassed, and more than half felt that their condition robbed them of pleasure or happiness.

The first step in feeling better emotionally is to accept that you have a chronic, lifelong condition and get the right treatment for it. Once rosacea is successfully treated, 70% of people with the condition note improvements in their emotional well-being and close to two-thirds say their professional and social interactions improved. Learning as much as you can about the condition, and educating the people around you about it, can also help you see that rosacea is a condition you can control.
