A family history of rosacea is a risk factor for the condition. The National Rosacea Society says that about 40% of people with rosacea report having a relative who also had symptoms of the disease. People of certain ethnicities, especially those of Irish, Scottish, Welsh, or Scandinavian descent, are also at greater risk of rosacea than other ethnic groups.
