The cause of erythematotelangiectatic rosacea is not yet known, so it's not possible to say whether it is linked to another condition. Some experts suspect that erythematotelangiectatic rosacea, and other forms of rosacea, may be linked to certain infections. Researchers also have observed that people with severe acne seem to have a higher-than-normal risk for developing rosacea.
