Is alitretinoin safe to use while pregnant or breastfeeding?

You should not breastfeed or become pregnant while using alitretinoin. As part of pregnancy Category D, there has been evidence of alitretinoin causing harm to a developing fetus. Do not use alitretinoin while pregnant. It is unknown if alitretinoin is passed into breast milk. Do not breastfeed while using alitretinoin. It may cause harm to a baby.
