There are many causes of eosinophilic pneumonia. The condition may be caused by a fungus or a parasite in the lungs. It may also be a reaction to certain drugs or from inhaling chemical vapors, such as those produced by the element nickel. In some cases, it is not easy to identify the exact cause of eosinophilic pneumonia.
