Eosinophilic pneumonia is not a common form of pneumonia. The condition is rare and is quite different from other forms of pneumonia. While other forms of pneumonia are directly caused by some type of infection, eosinophilic pneumonia is caused by white blood cells called eosinophils collecting in the lungs.
