How do other illnesses affect restrictive lung disease?

Restrictive lungs disease can result from over exposure to radiation. For this reason, restrictive lung diseases like fibrosis and radiation treatments for cancer are often related. Often people who have been treated for cancer for a while will develop soft tissue lung damage which, if allowed to continue over time, will turn into radiation-induced fibrosis. Asthma symptoms can also be related to restricted lung disease.
