Who should not receive Inomax?

Most babies who have hypoxic respiratory failure can safely receive INOmax (nitric oxide gas). In babies who have a heart problem known as left ventricular dysfunction or who must have left-to-right shunting of blood, however, this medicine may not be safe. INOmax is intended for newborns and has not been studied in adults.
