What are the side effects of talc intrapleural?

A common side effect of talc intrapleural is pain. Some people also experience bleeding from their chest tube site. Tell your doctor if these symptoms are ongoing or severe. In rare cases, intrapleural talc may cause more serious symptoms. Tell your doctor right away if you experience any of the following:
  • fainting
  • dizziness
  • fever
  • spitting up blood or coughing up blood
  • trouble breathing or catching your breath
  • chest pressure or pain
  • fast heartbeat
