What are the side effects of Claritin-D?

If you have an allergic reaction to Claritin-D (12-hour or 24-hour) tablets, seek emergency help. Allergic symptoms include hives, problems breathing and swelling of your face, lips, tongue or throat. Some other problems may be:

  • dry mouth
  • insomnia
  • loss of appetite
  • memory or concentration problems

Serious side effects may include:

  • unusual heartbeat
  • confusion
  • hallucinations
  • unusual behavior
  • problems urinating
  • mild ringing in the ears
  • dizziness
  • restless
  • anxiety
  • nervousness
  • dangerously high blood pressure and any of the symptoms associated with that

If you experience serious side effects, stop taking the drug immediately and contact your doctor.
