What are the side effects of desloratadine (Clarinex)?

Desloratadine (Clarinex) has several common side effects. If any of these common side effects do not go away or get worse, call your doctor:

  • Dizziness
  • Dry mouth
  • Extreme tiredness or exhaustion
  • Headaches
  • Muscle pain
  • Pain with your monthly period (menstruation)
  • Sore throat
  • Upset stomach

One very serious but uncommon side effect is difficulty breathing. If you have problems breathing, if you are wheezing, or feel short of breath, call your doctor right away. If the symptoms are severe, call 911.
