How should I take clemastine?

You should take clemastine exactly as directed by your doctor or as directed on the package (over-the-counter products). Dosing will depend on your age. Adults and children 13 years of age and older should use the minimum dosage needed to treat their hay fever symptoms and should not exceed 8.04 mg/day. Children six to 12 years of age should not be given more than 2.68 mg./day. Children younger than six years of age should not be given clemastine unless prescribed by their doctor. When taking clemastine, take each dose with a full glass of water. If using a liquid form of clemastine, be sure to use a medication measuring cup or spoon, not a household spoon, to measure the doses correctly. Clemastine doses can be taken with or without food.
