How does clemastine interact with other medications?

Clemastine can interact with other medications resulting in severe side effects or other health complications. Drinking alcohol or taking sleep aids, anxiety medications, or medications for depression while using clemastine can lead to severe drowsiness and reduced alertness. Taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) within 14 days of using clemastine can lead to fatal health complications. Using sodium oxybate and clemastine at the same time can lead to breathing and sleep problems. Do not use over-the-counter clemastine without first talking to your pharmacist or doctor about possible drug interactions.
