Can I take Kalydeco if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

Talk to your doctor about whether you can take Kalydeco (ivacaftor) if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or if you are breastfeeding. It is not known whether Kalydeco, a cystic fibrosis drug, can harm a developing fetus, such as by causing birth defects. It also is not known whether Kalydeco passes through breast milk to a baby.
