How does acetylcysteine solution interact with other medications or foods?

Certain medicines, such as nitroglycerin, might increase the side effects associated with acetylcysteine solution. Drinking alcohol or smoking can cause interactions, and so can eating certain foods before or near the time to use your medication. Talk to your doctor about what you might need to avoid. To prevent a negative interaction with acetylcysteine solution and other medications, tell your doctor about any prescriptions, over-the-counter or herbal products that you take.
