Are there alternative treatments for residual schizophrenia?

Antipsychotic medications are the most widely accepted treatment for all types of schizophrenia, including residual schizophrenia. Other than complementary therapies, such as community and family support, life skills training, and therapy, there are no alternative treatments for schizophrenia that are widely accepted by reputable sources. Since schizophrenia is a disabling condition that can be managed with conventional treatment, standard medical advice should be taken.
