Are ranulas contagious?

No, ranulas are not contagious. They cannot be passed from one person to another. They also are not caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungi. Ranulas occur when a salivary or sublingual gland becomes blocked. These mucous cysts happen spontaneously or as the result of a mouth trauma.
