How soon after receiving the rabies vaccine will my symptoms improve?

If you are receiving the rabies vaccine as a preventative measure against possible rabies exposure, then you will not experience any rabies symptoms. These develop weeks or months after exposure. The rabies vaccine, given immediately after exposure to a rabid animal, will prevent rabies. In some cases, people who begin to receive the vaccine up to 14 days after exposure also have been protected against rabies.
