Why do people start smoking?

Big tobacco hooks people by giving away cigarettes, by enticing them, or giving them to friends who give them to them.  Peer pressure is a big thing in high schools, and some people think it looks cool after watching a movie.  The only thing cool about smoking is how fast you will get cooled in life.  It ain't very cool to have to use an oxygen tank wherever you go.  It ain't very cool to get treatment for cancer with radiation therapy.  It ain't very cool to not be able to enjoy sex.  It ain't very cool to have a pockmarked, wrinkled face because of cigarettes, and that is what happens when you smoke.
