How does scalp psoriasis affect the body?

Scalp psoriasis apparently begins with an immune system problem, which causes white blood cells called T cells to attack healthy skin cells. This attack leads to an overgrowth of healthy skin cells, which causes scaly, sore patches of skin on the scalp. Often, these patches of skin are itchy, and after a person scratches the area, it can create silvery dandruff-like flakes. It is generally a condition that comes and goes.
