There are several complications that may arise as a result of your psoriasis. The condition is often accompanied by intense itching. Excessive scratching can lead to bacterial infections and thickened skin. Aside from that, many people with psoriasis may suffer from psychological side effects. The appearance of psoriasis can often lead to embarrassment, anxiety and avoidance of social settings. This can in turn cause stress, which may only make the condition worse. It isn't uncommon for those suffering from psoriasis to develop depression.
