Are there alternative treatments for nail psoriasis?

There are several alternative treatment options that some people with nail psoriasis may find beneficial. One of the most popular alternative therapies is sunlight therapy, which helps to slow down cell regeneration and reduces the symptoms of psoriasis. However, it is important to get the right amount of light, as too much can actually have harmful effects on the skin, including raising the risk of skin cancer. Since stress is one of the strongest triggers of psoriasis, utilizing relaxation techniques may keep symptoms from flaring up. The same can be said for avoiding the consumption of alcohol since it is a major trigger. Another home option may be to take fish oil supplements daily to reduce inflammation.
