What is the function of protein in the body?

Due to its role in the growth and development of tissues, it is considered the "building block" for all tissues (muscle, skin, hair, etc.). Protein is also important for the development of hormones, antibodies, and enzymes, which are all critical for proper functioning of the human body. Protein can also be a source of energy if carbohydrates and fats are lacking in your diet.
