Does prolactinoma run in families?

Although the exact cause of prolactinoma is unknown, it doesn't seem to run in families. The tumors seem to develop sporadically, so there aren't many known risk factors. Doctors do know that prolactinoma most commonly affects people between the ages of 20 and 50 and is far more common among women than men.
