What are the side effects of Megace ES?

The most common side effects of Megace ES are: difficulty sleeping, headache, gas, indigestion, nausea/vomiting, impotence, and rashes. Less common, and often more serious side effects of Megace ES are:  chest pain; blood clots in the legs, lungs, and other sites; calf pain; inflammation of blood vessels; dizziness; abdominal pain; constipation; dry mouth; increased saliva production; liver enlargement; decreased white blood cell count; numbness/tingling; increased blood glucose levels (with increased appetite, thirst, or urination); irregular heart rhythm; decreased heart muscle function; menstrual changes; muscle weakness; seizures; shortness of breath; infections; swelling of the ankles or fingers; hair loss; abnormal kidney test results; decreased ability to control urination; unexplained vaginal bleeding; unusual thoughts, depression; unusual weight gain in the face; severe allergic reactions (rash, hives, itching, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue). Signs of overdose include diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, cough, unsteady gait, listlessness, and chest pain. Seek immediate medical care for these serious side effects.
