What are the risks of laser treatments for red marks on the face?

Any laser can cause blistering. Blistering can result in scarring -- which is unusual. Laser treatment for red marks on the face can be performed with minimal swelling if only a few vessels are treated. If a large area is treated, there can be a lot of swelling. Occasionally, huge swelling requires steroids to be controlled. As with any laser, the skin must be protected from sunlight for a few weeks while there is skin redness.
