How do I care for someone with hyperemesis gravidarum?

If you are caring for someone who is pregnant, be aware of the signs and symptoms of hyperemesis gravidarum. This is a rare form of morning sickness. Morning sickness typically causes nausea, with or without vomiting. If this develops into severe nausea and persistent vomiting, accompanied by weight loss, they may have hyperemesis gravidarum. This condition poses risks for the mother and baby. Make sure they see a doctor as soon as any of these signs or symptoms develop.
