Does borderline diabetes always develop into type 2 diabetes?

The short answer is no. There are many things that you can do to keep diabetes at bay if you have been diagnosed with prediabetes. The most effective thing that you can do is take a look at your diet and activity level and make some changes there. We know that weight loss and exercise can help with the main problem that causes type 2 diabetes, the resistance of your body to insulin, so changing your diet and eating fewer sugars and carbohydrates, as well as starting a workout program, can prevent this. Unfortunately, you can't change your genes, so if you have a very strong family history of type 2 diabetes, you may only be able to prolong the time before you develop it, but these things can still be helpful to keep your diabetes well controlled if you do have it.
