Should someone with symptoms of alcohol poisoning see a doctor?

Anyone showing symptoms of alcohol poisoning is in serious danger. Alcohol poisoning is life-threatening and can lead to coma and death if left untreated. Never wait for someone to "sleep it off." When someone showing signs of alcohol poisoning is unconscious, call 911 or get the person to a hospital immediately. If someone is showing milder symptoms of alcohol poisoning and is still conscious, call the poison control center for recommendations on what steps to take.
