Are there complications associated with pituitary disorders?

Pituitary disorders can result in a number of complications including vision loss and a form of diabetes. Vision loss can be caused by a pituitary gland tumor that presses on the nearby optic nerves. Diabetes insipidus can result when the pituitary gland produces too little of the hormone vasopressin. Diabetes insipidus causes frequent urination and can lead to dehydration.
