Does physical therapy help treat neck and shoulder pain?

Absolutely.  Oftentimes, the reason for neck and shoulder pain is poor posture.  PT's will teach you how to carry yourself in space, and then to strengthen the appropriate muscles.  Typically, the rotator cuff and peri-scapular muscles need to be strengthened.  The tight anterior chest muscles usually need to be stretched.  It is a restoration of balance: stretching the tight, overly strong muscles and increasing the strength and shortening the overstretched muscles.
