What are the symptoms of flaccid paralysis?

The symptoms of flaccid paralysis will depend heavily on the underlying condition that causes it. The primary symptom is sudden onset of weak muscles and occasionally paralysis in children under the age of fifteen. Weakness often occurs in the arms, but most often the legs. One side of the body can be affected more than the other, or both may be affected similarly. The muscles in the respiratory system can also be affected, which sometimes causes breathing problems.
