How long do mobility impairments last?

Mobility impairments vary in severity and duration. They range from minor, limited loss of mobility in a particular body part to full-body paralysis. In some cases, it takes several weeks of therapeutic exercise and lifestyle changes to heal the impairment. However, mobility impairments resulting from incurable illnesses like cerebral palsy or multiple sclerosis are permanent. Amputation is another cause of impairment that is life long. In such cases, focus shifts from healing to maximizing comfort and mobility.
