Dysprosody is extremely rare, occurring in just 25 people between the years 1907 and 1978. Adults and children who have suffered certain types of brain damage seem to be most at risk of getting this rare disorder. If the right hemisphere of a person's brain has been damaged by a stroke, tumors, traumatic injuries, lesions, and/or neurological disorders, this person is at risk of dysprosody.
