Get immediate medical help if you experience signs of a severe allergic reaction to morrhuate, such as hives, breathing difficulty and swelling of your face, lips, tongue or throat. Call your doctor right away if you experience other serious side effects, including:
- pain
- redness
- swelling at the injection site
- a skin ulcer
Drowsiness, headaches, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, muscle weakness, asthma, pulmonary embolism, thrombosis, valvular incompetency and vascular collapse are other possible side effects of morrhuate sodium. The most common side effects of morrhuate include:
- aching
- burning
- bronze skin discoloration
- cramping
- a feeling of stiffness at the injection site
