What is water for injection?

Water for injection is the water in which medications are diluted in order for them to be injected into the veins (intravenous injection), where it can quickly travel to the part of the body is it targeting. This specially diluted water is contained in a Viaflex bottle that is created with a certain type of plastic (PL 146 Plastic), which prevents plastic particles or chemicals from leaking into the water. This assures that the water is kept sterile so it will not become contaminated or cause an adverse reaction.
